Social Media’s Impact on Child: Written By- Kavea Bhambhri

Social media shows its effects on society and human behavior. Social media unknowingly plays games with our minds continuously. Times have come when we don’t judge a person by his personality, but by his Instagram/Twitter profiles. Pictures that we click are categorized into two categories “post worthy” and “non-post worthy”. Memories now seem to be a myth. Our entire attention lies on showing the world how cool and happy we are, even if we are broken inside.
These days, our focus is not to win someone’s heart or take someone’s breath away by our charm. Instead now we demand fake hearts and nice comments on the pictures that we posted on our social network, that too from the people we hardly know. This is just to prove how famous and popular we are. So much so, if we do not get enough appreciation, we end up feeling low and sad about it. The emotional touch is lost because of these social media times, to an extent that now instead of talking verbally to our friends, we prefer chatting on these sites. Social media distracts us from taking care of our health as well. Social media is not bad but excess of it can be. Its addictive use can destroy us and despite knowing all of this we still continue to use it in excess. How ironic isn’t it?
